These Chicken Parm Sliders are one of our most popular appetizers or easy dinners for any party or tailgate. They are way too easy to make, anyone can do it with just 6 ingredients. We make it easy by using frozen chicken tenders to cut down on prep time and make cleanup easy.

When football season rolls around, these Chicken Parm Sliders are my daughter’s favorite to have with our game day spread. They’re surprisingly so simple to make thanks to store-bought ingredients like chicken tenders and marinara sauce.

You can prep everything in advance, then bake when guests arrive. We recommend making two batches because they are gone before you know it. If you love a great appetizer, then be sure to try our Jalapeno Poppers and Chopped Italian Sliders. You won’t go wrong.

My kids and grandkids LOVE LOVE LOVE this quick meal!!! It’s so good. – Nicole

Why You’ll Love this Recipe

  • 6 ingredient appetizer: This recipe is about as easy as it gets. It’s quick to shop for at the store and comes together in under 30 minutes.
  • A crowd favorite recipe: Everyone is a fan of chicken parmesan, so these sliders make it easy to serve and an individual portion for any group or gathering.
  • Customize these chicken parm sliders with your favorite sauces and seasoning. We’ve used spicy marinara sauce, vodka sauce, and add cheeses like burrata and ricotta to put different twist on these sandwiches.

Matt’s Tip: These chicken parm sliders are great for a tailgate or feeding a crowd. You can prep all of the ingredients in advance, then when you are ready to serve, just layer the sliders and bake until gooey and warm.

Ingredients

Ingredients for chicken parm sliders.

  • Kings Hawaiian Rolls: Sweet rolls that are the foundation for the slider sandwiches.
  • Chicken Strips: Buy your favorite kind in the frozen section of the grocery store.
  • Marinara: Tomato sauce that is signature to chicken parm and adds nice flavor to the sliders.
  • Garlic Herb Butter: Infuses each bite with garlic and herb flavor. It also helps to toast the rolls. I love the Kerrygold brand.
  • Shredded mozzarella: The gooey cheese that makes these sliders so delicious.
  • Parmesan cheese: Adds additionally cheesy flavor as well as saltiness too.

Expert Tips

  • Make sure you cook the chicken strips according to package instructions before dipping in the marinara. We want them crisp and ready to rewarm in the sandwich before baking in the oven. You can heat them in the microwave or the oven, even the air fryer is great too.
  • If you can’t find the store-bought garlic herb butter, simply mix together butter, garlic powder or minced garlic, with dried parsley and basil. Season with salt and butter.
  • Broil the cheese and rolls to toast them just right. You can also bake them if you prefer, just cover the rolls with foil if they start to get too dark or toast too much.
  • Try adding a different type of jarred sauce. We also love to add vodka sauce, spicy marinara sauce as an option that’s different than marinara.

Storage

It’s best to eat these right out of the oven so that the cheese is gooey and melty and the chicken is crisp. You can store any leftovers for up to a day in the fridge and reheat them in the air fryer or oven.

We don’t recommend freezing these sliders as it changes their texture and flavor when they are reheated.

So is marinara used as a dipping sauce? Another recipe has the chicken dipped in the sauce before the chicken is placed on the bun. I guess either way would be good!

I dip it before putting in bun to cut down on mess but still have the flavor. Extra to dip in never hurts though!

My kids and grandkids LOVE LOVE LOVE this quick meal!!! It’s so good.

It appears that there is a step skipped with dipping the chicken into the marinara before it goes into the bun and into the oven to be broiled.
