Air Fryer Whole Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 Whole chicken (3-5 lbs)
  • 1 Stick salted butter (I like Kerry Gold Garlic & Herb)
  • SPG
  • smoked paprika
  • bacon grease

Instructions

  • Separate skin from breast and shove cut up slices of butter around and on top of breast.
  • Pat skin dry with a paper towel.
  • Rub on a layer of bacon grease then season with SPG and smoked paprika.
  • Have your air fryer preheated to 350° and place chicken in breast side up for 15 min.
  • After 15 min, flip and cook breast side down.
  • After 15 more min flip again and cook breast side up until internal temp is 160° in thickest part of breast.
  • Tent with foil and allow to rest for 10 min. Enjoy!

Notes

Cook time will be determined by size of chicken. My chicken weighed 3.5lbs and took 48 min total cooking time. Just make sure it reaches 160° internal before pulling.
