Slow Cooker French Dips

French Dips are so amazingly delicious! If you make them in the slow cooker, they are amazingly simple too!

Servings: 12 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 3 lb sirloin tip roast
  • 2.5 cups beef stock
  • 12 oz beer(dark)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Generously salt sirloin tip roast and allow to set out at room temp for at least 30 min.
  • On med high heat, sear tip toast on all sides in bacon grease or oil of choice then set aside.
  • Add all ingredients to slow cooker. Add in roast and set on low for 6-8 hours or 4-5 hrs on high.
  • Remove roast, shred and return to slow cooker. Turn slow cooker to warm.
  • Toast hoagie buns and melt cheese of choice on them.
  • Add shredded beef and pour some au jus for dipping in a bowl. Enjoy!!

Notes

I used a sirloin tip roast for this but a chuck roast or a rump roast will also work just fine.

    Made this last night. Used a Sam Adams Light b/c that’s all I had.
    Also grilled some sourdough hoagie rolls with a slice of Havarti cheese.
    Thanks for the recipe – they tasted like I imagined they would when seeing the video. Def adding to the recipe box.
