Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 1 46oz can tomato juice
- 1 can chili beans
- 1 chili roll
- 4 cups beef broth
- salt to taste
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven brown ground beef.
- Once cooked though add seasonings, tomato juice, and chili beans.
- Break up chili roll and add along with beef broth.
- Simmer for a couple hours stirring occasionally. (It will take a little while for the chili roll to dissolve.)
- Salt to taste about 30 min before ready to enjoy
- Add the elbow macaroni. Once macaroni is al dente it’s time to enjoy!
What could be a substitute for the chili roll if it’s not readily available where you are?
I would prob do another can of chili beans and maybe 6oz of tomato paste.
Grew up on the same kind except we didn’t always have it with the beef. But the staple to the recipe is the chili roll!
