Why You’ll Love this Recipe

  • 8 Ingredient Dessert. We like to keep it easy, that’s why we have affordable ingredients that are simple to shop for.
  • A dessert that’s ideal to make in advance. Assemble this Biscoff banana pudding with cool whip up to a day in advance. It actual gets better the longer it sits in the fridge.
  • Customize to your liking. If we know anything about banana pudding being from the South, is everyone likes it their own way! You can swap out the cookies, use homemade whipped cream, or use banana flavored instant pudding mix.

Ingredients

  • Instant Banana Cream Pudding Mix: Cuts down on prep time, and the banana flavor adds another punch of delicious flavor.
  • Whole Milk: For the instant pudding mix, make sure it is ice cold.
  • Heavy Cream: Be sure it’s super cold, this is for both the pudding mix as well as the homemade whipped topping.
  • Cream Cheese: Soften this prior to mixing to make sure it’s incorporated well. Adds a cheesecake flavor to every bite.
  • Vanilla Extract: Gives both a floral and caramel flavor.
  • Light Brown Sugar: Sweetens everything just right and adds a light caramel flavor to pair with the Biscoff cookies.
  • Bananas: Make sure they are super ripe! Ripe bananas give the dessert better flavor.
  • Powdered Sugar: Sweetens the homemade whipped cream and also helps provide it’s structure.
  • Biscoff Cookies: A twist that we love for the recipe, they have a rich spice and vanilla flavor.

Expert Tips

  • Make sure to chill the Biscoff banana pudding for at least two hours. This help the layers to set and also gives the pudding it’s rich banana flavor. We recommend even refrigerating the day before, it only gets better with time.
  • Soften the cream cheese before mixing. You want to make sure it’s room temperature so it incorporates into the mixture evenly and smoothly.
  • Swap homemade whipped topping for store-bought. We love the flavor and texture of homemade whipped cream, but if you are in a pinch for time or want to create less mess in the kitchen, store-bought is great too.
  • Buy ripe bananas. This is so important, a good banana pudding recipe is only better if the bananas are ripe!

Storage & Make Ahead Instructions

Store any leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. We don’t recommend freezing this Biscoff banana pudding since it will change the texture.

This is a great recipe to make in advance, we actually recommend that you do. It allows the layers to firm up in the fridge and also helps the flavors to marry for extra richness in each bite. Assemble up to a day in advance.

FAQs

Can I make the pudding from scratch?

Yes, if you prefer to make it homemade that’s works well, just be sure to let the pudding cools completely before layering.

What other cookies can I use to layer banana pudding?

Butter cookies, shortbread, vanilla wafers, graham crackers, and madeleines are all things we have made this recipe with and are delicious.

How do I keep the bananas from turning dark in the pudding?

Simply toss them in 1 to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice before adding them to the casserole dish. This prevents them from oxidizing, but will not add lemon flavor to your recipe.

This is the best banana pudding. I’ve been making this recipe for years. The only difference is I use Pepperidge Farm’s Chessmans Cookies. They are expensive but good.
