Creamy Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Tortellini

This one pot meal means minimal clean up yet packed with crazy flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb andouille sausage
  • 2 lbs jumbo shrimp(peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • minced garlic
  • 2.5 cups chicken broth
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 1.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • salt to taste
  • 24 oz cheese tortellini(fridge section)
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Cut up sausage and cook on med high heat. Once they have nice color remove.
  • Peel and devein shrimp, season with cajun seasoning.
  • Add small amount of oil or bacon grease to pan and cook shrimp around 30 sec each side and remove. Cook shrimp in batches to keep from overcrowding pan.
  • Turn heat to med low and unsure it has properly cooled before adding butter.
  • Add butter and olive oil. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add chicken broth, heavy cream, and seasonings. Stir u until combined.
  • Add tortellini. Bring to a simmer and cover stirring every few min until tortellini is plump.(about 10 min)
  • Add in parmesan cheese and stir until smooth. Add back in shrimp and sausage. Enjoy!
