Beer Can Chicken

Beer Can Chicken always turns out juicy and super flavorful! It's not difficult at all to make if you have a smoker or charcoal grill! Lets get into it!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken thawed
  • 1 12 oz can of beer
  • BBQ Rub
  • BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • First, set up grill for non direct heat and get temp to 350 degrees.
  • Make sure chicken is fully thawed, wipe moisture off outside with a paper towel.
  • Add some bacon grease or oil to skin and then season heavily with preferred BBQ rub.
  • Pour out (or drink) about 4oz from beer and place in chicken stand.
  • Place chicken on can with legs on bottom.
  • Put chicken on non direct heat until it reaches around 150 degrees in the thickest part of the breast.
  • Next, brush BBQ sauce over entire chicken.
  • Continue to cook until internal temp is 160 degrees which should be around 75-90 minutes.
  • Remove from grill and rest for around 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can use any rub or sauce you prefer but I have provided links to the ones I used above. Pulling at 160 in the thickest part of the breast,  the chicken will safely rest above 165 internal temp.
