7-UP Chicken and Dumplings
Chicken and Dumplings are a great comfort food! This version using "7-UP" dough is easy and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken
- 2 carrots
- 2 ribs celery
- 1 white onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 tbsp chicken bouillon
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- salt/pepper to taste
- 2.5 cups bisquick
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup 7-UP
Instructions
- Cut up veggies and place in a large pot(7qt) along with chicken boullion.
- Place chicken in and fill pot with water until chicken is covered, bring to a simmer.
- Allow chicken to simmer for around 2 hrs until it starts to fall apart.
- When chicken has been simmering around 90 min make dumplings.
- Mix bisquick, sour cream, and 7-UP in a large bowl.
- Add some bisquick to a clean, flat surface and begin to knead.
- Roll out to around 1/2" thickness and cut dumplings into desired sizes.
- Remove chicken to cool down as well as veggies and bay leaves.
- Salt/Pepper to taste and add heavy cream.
- Add dumplings once at a time so they don't stick and allow to simmer around 15 min.
- Cut up and add back in chicken and carrots/celery if desired.

Notes
Use chicken stock in place of water and bouillon if preferred, Â it's not that serious. Â For the dumplings, Â and carbonated liquid will work in place of 7-UP. Â You can sub the bisquick for any baking mix, Â and if you don't have sour cream then whole fat greek yogurt should be fine. Â I haven't used mayo but it would prob work as well.
